Trump Reveals What Really Saved His Life

Former President Donald Trump, at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, recounted the assassination attempt on his life and expressed gratitude to God for his survival.

“The first one was not a good situation, not a good situation,” Trump added. “That was really something incredible. That was from God. That was from God. Because the chances….that was from God. For all of you non-believers, that one was from God, right?”

Speaking later at a rally in Atlanta, Georgia, Trump praised the bravery of the Secret Service agents who protected him when Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire at the event on July 13. He described the scene as chaotic, with “bullets flying,” and commended the agents for their courageous actions.

“Say what you want, those people were brave. They were running to me,” Trump told the crowd. “And, the bullets were flying. The Secret Service, they were very brave, they were very brave I can say. They were very brave. They were running at me, and they knew the bullets were going right over my head at that point.”

The assassination attempt on the life of the former president has put the Secret Service under heavy scrutiny. Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS) blamed the shooting attempt on the systemic failures of the Secret Service.

“Back home, this is all that people wanted to talk about is the Secret Service failure,” he said, adding “I’ll tell you, it’s because people back home don’t feel safe. The Secret Service has had 48% turnover in a year’s time.Barely 50% of them trust their senior leadership. Look, the Secret Service is negligent, incompetent. And there’s a cultural failure within their organization.”

The Secret Service has also been accused of a cover-up since the shooting occured. Investigative journalist Gerald Posner is one of those who thinks there is a cover-up.

“We knew there have been screw-ups before, but they can’t keep it silent anymore because people who attend the rally take out their cell phones and start recording what happened. Everybody could see — ‘Hey, there he is! There’s that guy! Look at that guy on the roof! Hey, officers!’ — So, we know more than they are telling us. No wonder we think something is fishy here,” Posner said. “The shooter was walking around with a range finder and apparently a large backpack and they were tracking him. And then the Secret Service was made aware, they’re saying they now knew 30 minutes in advance. Why did they allow Trump to take that stage?”
