Secret Service Scandal!! Director Lied

The  Secret Service was embroiled in another saga after major reports showed some inconsistencies in its statement regarding former President Donald Trump’s Assassination attempt.

Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle previously claimed that agents were not stationed on the roof where the shooter fired because it was too sloppy. Cheatle claimed the slope made it dangerous for Secret Service snipers.

However,  Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) exposed Cheatle’s lie in a letter to Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas on Monday.

“Contrary to Director Cheatle’s public statements about the ‘safety’ of the sloped roof of American Glass Research Building 6, one whistleblower with direct knowledge of Secret Service planning for the event alleges that there was supposed to be a law enforcement presence on the roof that day,” Hawley wrote in the letter.

According to the lawmaker, a whistleblower claims at least one security official was stationed on the rooftop but abandoned their post. Hawley’s letter stated the shocking reason that made the agent leave their post.

“In fact, the whistleblower alleges that at least one individual was specifically assigned to the roof for the duration of the rally, but this person abandoned his or her post due to the hot weather. The whistleblower further alleges that concerns over the heat prompted law enforcement to forego patrolling Building 6 and instead to station security personnel inside the building,” the lawmaker wrote in the letter posted to X.

Hawley’s letter comes on the same day that Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) demanded she face a perjury investigation. The GOP lawmaker accused the director of lying before Congress.

“I’m going to ask for a full review of the transcripts by staff, and if you find that to be the case, I do ask that you (Chairman House Oversight Committee Rep. James Comer (R-KY) bring perjury charges against the director,” Luna said after Cheatle denied knowledge of threats against Trump.”

Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL) also announced on Monday that he would file articles of impeachment against Cheatle.

“In light of Kimberly Cheatle’s unacceptable handling of the Trump assassination attempt, her disastrous appearance before the House Oversight committee today, and her refusal to resign, we have no choice but to impeach,” Steube wrote on X. “I will be filing articles of impeachment against Kimberly Cheatle this afternoon.”
