Husband supports ex-wife during emergency brain surgery

Edwin Arroyave showed unwavering support for Teddi Mellencamp during her emergency brain surgery on Wednesday, providing updates to followers through his Instagram account.

From Mellencamp’s hospital room, Arroyave, 47, shared touching moments with their children. He recorded himself explaining to their 4-year-old daughter Dove that an armchair would serve as his makeshift bed, while their 10-year-old son Cruz was also present to support his mother.

Arroyave posted a poignant photo on his Instagram feed showing Mellencamp, 43, in her hospital attire as he knelt beside her bed. His caption included a heartfelt prayer: “Lord, I lift up @teddimellencamp to You. You are the Great Healer, and I ask for Your healing touch upon her body. Restore her strength, renew her spirit, and let her feel Your comforting presence. Grant her peace, hope, and full recovery. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Before the surgery, Mellencamp shared glimpses of her support system, including Arroyave, Kyle Richards, and Morgan Wade, through her Instagram Story.

Earlier, the former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star had disclosed that persistent, severe headaches led medical professionals to discover multiple brain tumors. She elaborated on her condition during her “Two T’s in a Pod” podcast, revealing the need to surgically remove two tumors, with three smaller ones likely requiring radiation treatment.

The podcast continued with Tamra Judge, 57, hosting solo after an emotional request for prayers for her co-host.

This health crisis follows Mellencamp’s ongoing battle with melanoma since 2022, which has required numerous surgical interventions. She previously shared her struggles with the emotional toll of her health journey in July 2024.

The couple’s marriage, which began in July 2011, recently ended with divorce proceedings amid allegations of Mellencamp’s involvement with horse trainer Simon Schroeder. While addressing these claims on her podcast, Mellencamp neither confirmed nor denied the speculation but acknowledged taking responsibility for her actions.

Despite their separation, Arroyave’s presence during this medical emergency demonstrates their continued support for one another, particularly as they co-parent their children, including 12-year-old Slate.
