The Kremlin’s ambassador to the UK declared that Britain has become a direct participant in the Ukraine conflict following Ukraine’s deployment of British-manufactured Storm Shadow missiles against Russian territory.
The announcement comes as reports emerged of Ukraine utilizing UK-produced Storm Shadows to strike Russia’s Kursk region, coinciding with President Biden’s decision to permit Ukraine to employ American long-range missiles against Russian territory.

Speaking to Sky News, Ambassador Andrei Kelin stated: “Absolutely, Britain and UK is now directly involved in this war, because this firing cannot happen without NATO staff, British staff as well.”
He further warned: “The US administration, support by France and the UK, has made a deliberate decision to make these strikes, which seriously escalates the situation, and it can bring a collision between the nuclear powers.”
Kelin alleged that British officials had previously guaranteed Storm Shadows would remain within Ukrainian borders, accusing London of intentional deception.
British officials dismissed these claims, with Downing Street stating they wouldn’t be swayed by commentary from Putin or his ambassador.
These developments follow Putin’s recent modification of Russia’s nuclear doctrine, which now considers any attack on Russia backed by nuclear-capable nations, including non-nuclear strikes, as grounds for nuclear retaliation.

Simultaneously, Russia introduced its new Oreshnik hypersonic missile, using it against Ukrainian targets in Dnipro. Putin defended the weapon’s deployment, citing Ukraine’s use of Western missiles, stating: “The regional conflict in Ukraine has acquired elements of a global character.”
Russian media reports indicate the Oreshnik achieves speeds of Mach 10, though Ukrainian sources suggest it reached Mach 11 during the Dnipro strike.
Moscow maintains the missile’s hypersonic capabilities make it virtually impossible to intercept, with Putin asserting: “There are no means of counteracting Oreshnik-type complexes in the world.”
