Hunter Biden Claims Father Not Involved In Business

First Son Hunter Biden said this week that his father, President Joe Biden, was not involved in any of his business ventures. While the statement correlates with previous statements by both Hunter and Joe Biden, the assertion also contradicts Hunter Biden’s earlier statement that his father was with him in the room when discussing business deals.

The statement came as Hunter Biden testified before the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees as part of their wider investigations. The statements were made behind closed doors as House Republicans sought answers regarding years of alleged foreign business deals involving the First Son.

Hunter Biden told the committees that he “did not involve my father in my business.” He said that this was the case during multiple phases of his career and during Joe Biden’s time as vice president. He called the current investigation a “partisan political pursuit” of the president. Hunter Biden said that congressional Republicans had “trafficked in innuendo, distortion and sensationalism.”

He also claimed that there was “clear and convincing evidence” of his innocence.

The First Son admitted to “mistakes” in his life and that he had “squandered opportunities and privileges that were afforded to me.”

“I know that,” he wrote.

Media outlets revealed the contents of Hunter Biden’s testimony, including elements that were in conflict with other reporting and his earlier statements.

While Hunter Biden claimed that his father was not involved in any of his business ventures, text messages revealed that Hunter Biden claimed that his father was in the room with him when discussing a potential deal with a prominent Chinese businessman.

Hunter Biden was also allegedly involved in a Chinese business venture with the president’s brother, James Biden.

The president’s son’s statements also come as he is facing two separate federal trials related to alleged firearm and tax crimes. He is being accused by special counsel David Weiss of not paying taxes on multiple years of tax returns, including when he allegedly received millions from foreign sources.
