Government wastes millions on questionable animal experiments

During a House oversight hearing on Thursday focused on “Taxpayer-Funded Animal Cruelty,” Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) revealed shocking details about government-funded experiments that have cost American taxpayers billions of dollars.

The hearing demonstrated rare bipartisan unity, as both parties expressed concern over the federal government’s long-standing practice of funding animal experiments, which has accumulated to approximately $20 billion in spending.

Among those implicated in these controversial practices is former NIH Director Anthony Fauci, who has faced significant criticism for his role in funding various research programs, including gain of function research.

Drawing from a recent report by The White Coat Waste Project, a conservative animal welfare organization, Mace highlighted disturbing instances of animal experimentation conducted under DEI grants, specifically targeting the promotion of transgender ideology. These experiments involved various laboratory animals, including mice, rats, and monkeys.

“The White Coat Waste Project exposed more than $10 million in taxpayer funds that were spent creating transgender mice, rats, and monkeys,” Mace began. “These DEI grants funded deadly and painful transgender experiments that forced lab animals to undergo invasive surgeries and hormone therapies at universities across the country.”

The congresswoman proceeded to outline several specific cases of taxpayer-funded experiments under the current administration. These included a $2.5 million study examining transgender mice fertility, $1.1 million allocated to research testosterone therapy effects on female rats in relation to a specific party drug popular in the LGBTQ community, and experiments involving the forced transition of male monkeys to study hormone therapy’s impact on HIV susceptibility.

The revelations have prompted many Americans to question whether Fauci had any involvement in these experimental programs, adding another layer of scrutiny to these controversial research practices.
