Fetterman Backs Israel After Iran Attack

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) again reiterated his support for Israel following the large Iranian drone and missile attack by Iran over the weekend. The senator has been one of the most outspoken supporters of Israel since the Oct. 7 Hamas terrorist that killed 1,200 people.

The senator said during a CNN interview that the United States should strongly support Israel during the current crisis.

He said in response to a question that the United States should “have Israel’s back in the situation.” He disagreed with recent statements from President Joe Biden cautioning against an Israeli attack on the last Hamas stronghold of Rafah.

However, he still complimented Biden.

“That doesn’t change anything that he‘s a fantastic president. I‘m proud to stand with him and campaign for him and vote for him,” said Fetterman.

“The president is entitled to his own views and whatever he decides to do. But I would never capitulate to the fringe. I’ll never pander to that as well,” the senator said.

“In fact, that empowers Hamas and Hamas, they’re actually convinced they’re winning the PR war. And they’re never going to negotiate at this point. They think that they’re going to hold onto the very end,” he said.

“And there should never be any kinds of conditions on all that. When a nation can launch hundreds of drones towards Israel — I’m not going to be talking about conditions ever,” he said.

The United States aided Israel during the attack this weekend. Between the efforts of Israel, the United States, the United Kingdom and Jordan about 99% of the projectiles launched at Israel were intercepted or crashed.

Fetterman said that he supported the killings of members of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Damascus, Syria earlier this month.

The senator has been followed by pro-Palestinian protesters in recent months, including one incident outside the U.S. Capitol.

Fetterman has made a point to support Israel during some of the most tense moments of the current Mideast war. That includes placing photos of the hostages taken by Hamas outside of his office. The senator
