AOC asks if helping immigrants avoid ICE is illegal
Listen To Story Above
In a dramatic development, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) has found herself in a precarious position as former ICE Director Tom Homan intensifies his scrutiny of her activities.
The progressive congresswoman from New York has dispatched an urgent letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi, seeking information about potential Department of Justice (DOJ) investigations into her recent actions regarding immigration enforcement.
The situation escalated after Homan publicly challenged AOC’s conduct, specifically targeting her efforts to provide guidance to undocumented immigrants about avoiding Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations.
.@AOC just sent a letter to AG Pam Bondi asking if AOC is under investigation for helping illegals avoid ICE and deportation.

Speaking with Laura Ingraham, Homan stated: “I sent an email today to Deputy Attorney General. At what level is that impedement? Is that impediment? I’m not an attorney. I’m not a prosecutor. Is that impediment? Is that impeding our law enforcement efforts. If so, what are we going to do about it? Is she crossing the line? I’m working with the Department of Justice and finding out where is that line that they cross.”
The controversy stems from AOC’s public announcement about conducting webinars designed to help undocumented immigrants evade ICE operations in New York City. On February 13, 2025, Homan revealed he had requested the Deputy Attorney General to investigate these activities, suggesting potential consequences for the congresswoman.
In response, AOC’s letter to Bondi expresses concern about political persecution and defends her actions as constitutionally protected speech. The letter reads: “I write to request clarity on whether the Department of Justice (DOJ) has yielded to political pressure and attempts to weaponize the agency against elected officials whose speech they disagree with. Over the past two weeks, “Border Czar” Tom Homan has gone on multiple forums threatening political prosecution against me, citing resources I distributed informing my constituents and the American public of their constitutional and legal rights.
On February 13, 2025, Mr. Homan announced that he had asked the Deputy Attorney General to open an investigation, and that I will be “in trouble now.” It has been 14 days since Mr. Homan first threatened to weaponize your agency, but I have not yet heard any referral from the federal government. Homan’s actions undercut core Constitutional rights and further transparency is necessary.
I am sure you aware of the First Amendment of the United States Constitution:
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
Breaking: 🚨 AOC, quiet literally AOC is breaking down, and it’s hilarious to watch is all unfold!
What’s your opinion on this, America?
As we all know, she has been very active in giving advice to criminal illegal aliens on how to evade ICE agents and deportations.

Indeed, last week, Vice President Vance said that “we may disagree with your views, but we will fight to defend your right to offer it in the public square.” Mr. Homan’s repeated attempts to use your agency to politically intimidate duly elected officials are a textbook threat to the right to free speech in the United States. Threatening criminal proceedings for exercising the First Amendment is itself a violation of the First Amendment.
Educating the public about their rights, especially in a time of rising uncertainty, is a key part of our responsibility as elected officials. A government that uses threats of DOJ investigations to suppress free speech is a threat to all, regardless of political ideology.
Please respond no later than March 5, 2025, with an update on the Department of Justice’s response to Mr. Homan’s request and transparency as to whether my office or myself is actively under investigation for exercising their First Amendment rights and executing on our congressional responsibilities.”
