Trump Opens New National Lead

Former President Donald Trump is leading President Joe Biden nationally, according to a recent poll. The Emerson College poll appears to reinforce other national polls that mostly show Trump ahead of the president.

The poll showed Trump ahead of the president by 2% nationally. Trump carried 46% compared to 44% for Biden.

When undecided voters were asked to choose from one of the two candidates, each then brought in 50%.

Trump has also improved his standing among younger voters. While Biden is still in the lead among voters under the age of 30, Trump is now winning among voters in their 30s. Trump is also winning voters above that age group, including winning over voters in their 50s by almost 20%.

In addition, only 68% of Democrats said that Biden should be the nominee of the Democratic Party, as compared to 80% of Republicans who say the same of Trump.

The Emerson result is not alone in showing Trump in the lead. According to recent Morning Consult and Fox News polls, Trump is leading by 1% nationally. In addition, a recent Harvard-Harris poll has the former president leading by a convincing 6%.

In the RealClearPolitics average of recent polls, Trump is leading in four of eight recent surveys. In addition, Biden is leading in one while the two candidates are tied in three of them. When other candidates are included in polling, Trump’s lead often expands.

Trump has also emerged in the lead in a number of swing states, which could ultimately decide the 2024 election. Recent polls have shown Trump ahead in all or nearly all of the states.

Furthermore, Trump is making an effort to win in a number of states that are traditionally carried by Democrats. He held recent rallies in New York and New Jersey and said that he would make a serious push in both states.

The former president also headlined an event for the Minnesota Republican Party and said that he would attempt to win that state, which no Republican presidential candidate has done in more than 50 years.
