The Life Of JD Vance – Presumed America’s 2024 Vice President
The small-town kid who reminded America’s working class of the virtues of hard work is now set to become the Vice President of the United States.
“After lengthy deliberation and thought, and considering the tremendous talents of many others, I have decided that the person best suited to assume the position of Vice President of the United States is Senator J.D. Vance of the Great State of Ohio,” Trump said in the post, adding that Vance “will continue to fight for our Constitution, stand with our Troops, and will do everything he can to help me MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.”
In only his second year of a six-year term, Vance has emerged as one of Trump’s most vocal champions after breaking with the former president early in his career.
Vance, 39, who rose to fame in politics with the publication of his best-selling memoir about growing up in an impoverished Appalachian family rooted in dysfunction on its way from Ohio steel town poverty to Yale Law School.
The book does not mention Trump, though it was seen as providing explanations for the white working class’ affinity with then-President Donald J. Through the ensuing years, Vance became a connecting link between those at power and folks from the Rust Belt.
Vance was a combat correspondent in the U.S. Marine Corps and went to work as an intern for Republican Ohio State Senator Bob Schuler while he was studying at Ohio State University. He won a majority victory in the 2022 Senate race against sitting Senator Tim Ryan, edging past his strongest competition to date.
Vance largely centered his Ohio Senate campaign on legislation dealing with foreign policy and cultural issues.
After Trump was targeted in an assassination attempt on Saturday, Vance lashed out at the Biden campaign for allegedly encouraging violence when they labeled the former president “an authoritarian fascist who must be stopped at all costs.”
“That rhetoric led directly to President Trump’s attempted assassination,” he added.
“America is not just an idea. America is a nation. America is a group of people with a common history and a common future,” Vance says on video during NatCon.
If Trump and Vance are successful, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine would appoint a replacement to serve until a special election is held to complete the rest of Vance’s term through 2029.
