Senators Plan To Shut Down Democratic Bills

A group of Republican senators wrote to President Joe Biden, saying that most bills originating from Democrats will be held up in the Senate in response to the conviction of former President Donald Trump. The action comes amid widespread Republic outrage over the verdict.

The senators wrote that they were “we are unwilling to aid and abet this White House in its project to tear this country apart.”

The eight Republicans wrote that the “White House has made a mockery of the rule of law and fundamentally altered our politics in un-American ways.”

The senators vowed that they would not “all any increase to non-security related funding for this administrations, or any appropriations bill which funds partisan lawfare.” The group also vowed not to “vote to confirm this administration’s political and judicial appointees.”

The letter also promised to deny “expedited consideration and passage of Democrat legislation or authorities that are not directly relevant to the safety of the American people.”

The letter came after the former president held a press event Friday, where he decried the verdict. He said that the case was “rigged” and that there were serious issues with the judge and the prosecution.

“We’ll keep fighting. We’ll fight till the end, and we’ll win because our country’s gone to hell,” said Trump.

We’re a nation in decline, serious decline,” said Trump. “Millions and millions of people pouring into our country right now from prisons and from mental institutions, terrorists, and they’re taking over our country. We have a country that’s in big trouble.”

The former president touched on a number of subjects during the event and said that his poll numbers went up after the verdict was released.

The conviction stems from allegations of a payment from Trump to former adult film actress Stormy Daniels after a brief relationship.

Trump denies all wrongdoing in the case and said that the prosecution was directed by the White House. The White House denies these allegations.
