Lawmaker’s Office Receives Bomb Threat 

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) announced on Wednesday that her office received a “very serious shooting threat” following a second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump at his golf club in Florida over the weekend.

“My office has received a very serious shooting threat,” Luna wrote on her personal account on X. “This division and hate campaign against Republicans is going to get someone killed. I will not be threatened, intimidated, or bow down to those using violence as a means to push their agenda. We will win.”

She continued, “America is the greatest country in the world. I will continue to fight for the wonderful people who have elected me as well as those across the country that feel that they are being left behind. Please keep my family in your prayers. Hate has no place here.”

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) responded in solidarity, stating, “We are right there with you. It’s OUT OF CONTROL.” Social media influencer Rogan O’Handley, known as “DC Draino,” called the shooting threat “unacceptable,” especially coming “just days after” Trump’s near-assassination, adding, “They’re trying to kill anyone who actually gives a damn about saving this country.”

Luna, an Air Force veteran who was first elected to Congress in 2022 with Trump’s endorsement, is seeking re-election to represent Florida’s 13th Congressional District against Democrat challenger Whitney Fox in the upcoming November election.

In a follow-up post on her congressional account, Luna elaborated on the situation, stating, “Over the last few weeks, I have received an increasing number of threats and doxxing attacks. An online page was encouraging strangers to send threatening packages to my home. This weekend, it escalated to a very serious shooting threat, and we are taking every necessary step to ensure the safety of my family, staff, and our district. Law enforcement is actively investigating the matter, and I am grateful for their swift response and ongoing efforts to prevent any potential harm. My office will provide more details after law enforcement concludes its investigation.”

Just hours before this threat to my office, we saw how there was a second assassination attempt on President Trump’s life.
