Former Trump Official Plans Major Deportation Program

A former member of the Trump administration plans to aid Republican candidates for the Senate through a promise of a major deportation program for illegal immigrants. The news came as border crossings have shifted partially away from Texas and toward other border states.

Jeff Gunter, who is running for U.S. Senate in Nevada called for the “Build the Wall, Deport Them All” effort. The former ambassador to Iceland under former President Donald Trump said that he refused “to stand by and watch our communities destroyed by the flood of illegals.”

“Talk is cheap, and if Biden won’t do anything about it, I will. That’s why I’m stepping up to make progress and expedite the deportation effort,” he added.

The candidate said that the effort would also restart the construction of the border wall started by Trump.

The former president promised a large deportation project if he was elected to another term this November.

trump said that he would put two major programs back in place ended by President Joe Biden, the Title 42 asylum program and Remain in Mexico. Many conservatives credit the programs as being major factors that reduced the flow of illegal immigrants into the country.

Trump said that he would utilize the military for the deportation program. He said that the action would be legal because the illegal aliens “aren’t civilians.”

He hoped that local police would be involved in the deportation effort or they “won’t partake in the riches.”

The number of border crossings along the Rio Grande in Texas has declined in part due to Operation Lone Star. The state-level effort has utilized the Texas National Guard and police in order to stem the flow of migrants crossing the border. The state also passed a law making illegal entry into Texas a state crime.

The effort has paid dividends through a sharp decline in crossings near Eagle Pass, one of the major migration sites. The effort has also sparked a sharp disagreement with the Biden administration, which sued the state to stop the effort.
