Democratic Strategist and Harris Faulkner Clash

Fox News host Harris Faulkner interrupted a Democratic strategist on Monday who tried to pivot the conversation from polling numbers to abortion issues.

A recent New York Times/Siena poll indicates that former President Donald Trump is leading Vice President Kamala Harris in key swing states like Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina. Faulkner asked Democratic strategist Antjuan Seawright about the close race, but Seawright attempted to shift the discussion toward abortion.

“Well, Harris, I have to respond to my friend on the other side,” Seawright began after Republican strategist Cassie Smedile mentioned Harris skipping the Al Smith dinner. “Joe Biden is a practicing Catholic, and he believes a woman should be trusted—”

“Wait a minute, wait a minute,” Faulkner interjected. “We want to talk about polling, and I respect that you have more to say about why Kamala Harris is not attending this gathering with Archbishop Timothy Dolan. But we’re talking about polling now. Less than a minute left, Antjuan.”

Seawright described the election between Trump and Harris as a “50/50 jump ball” after Faulkner pushed back on his change of subject.

“I’m proud of how she’s articulated her agenda to the American people versus concepts of a plan or versus saying Black Haitian immigrants are eating cats and dogs in Springfield, Ohio,” Seawright added. “We would love to have the policy contrast conversation continuously.”

Since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June 2022, access to abortion has become a key campaign issue for Democrats, including Harris, who has been vocal in criticizing the ruling.

Currently, Trump trails Harris by 2.2% in the RealClearPolitics average from September 3 to 20. Harris’ lead increases to an average of 2.6% when including Green Party candidate Dr. Jill Stein, independent candidate Cornel West, and Libertarian candidate Chase Oliver in the surveys.
