Biden Wearing New Anti-Fall Shoes

President Joe Biden is reportedly wearing a new pair of sneakers intended to keep him from falling down. The news came after Biden fell or slipped several times in the last year, including a high-profile stumble at an important ceremony last year.

The president has been wearing Hoka Transport sneakers which have a large heel that appears to prevent him from falling. The news came after his recent physical stated that he had a “stiffened gait.” The shoes appear to be intended to prevent Biden from falling and replace his standard dress shoes.

Biden has been wearing sneakers since January but has been wearing them more in recent weeks.

The White House reported that the president attends physical therapy four or five times per week.

Last year Biden fell a number of times, including at the graduation of the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado. After his fall the president hit his head on the presidential helicopter Marine Force One when returning to the White House.

The president was also filmed slipping up the stairs to Air Force One several times. White House staffers denied changing the staircase to the presidential jet to make it easier for Biden to enter.

The trips and falls also come amid increasing concern over Biden’s age and health. The president, at 81, is the oldest in American history. Should he serve another term, he would leave office at 86.

There are also significant concerns over the president’s mental acuity, especially after the release of special counsel Robert Hur’s report regarding his alleged handling of classified documents. Hur’s report noted that Biden had trouble recalling key facts about his life, including when his son Beau Biden died and when he was vice president.

A February poll found that 86% of Americans, including a majority of Democrats, believe that Biden is too old for a second term. This was an increase from a September poll, which found that 74% of Americans believed that Biden was too old.
