Poll Shows RFK Gaining Among Trump Voters

A recent poll showed that independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy would receive a significant number of voters who would otherwise cast their ballot for former President Donald Trump. The candidate has received considerable attention on the political right, especially from vaccine skeptics and critics of American foreign policy.

A recent NBC News poll found that Trump led Biden in a head-to-head matchup by a margin of 46% to 44%. However, when Kennedy was added to the question Biden took a two-point lead.

With Kennedy included Biden received 39% while Trump received 37%. Kennedy was in last place with 13%.

Trump called Kennedy the “most Radical Left Candidate in the race, by far.” The Trump campaign has also dedicated significant effort this year to criticizing Kennedy.

Despite this, Kennedy has received support from some parts of the political spectrum, seemingly including some disaffected Republicans.

Trump has led in a number of other recent polls, including both state and national ones.

The same poll showed a number of negative trends for the president, with voters choosing Trump’s leadership in times of crisis and handling inflation over Biden.

Furthermore, a separate ABC News poll found that Republicans viewed Kennedy better than Democrats did. Kennedy spent his adult life as a left-wing political activist, including regarding topics such as the environment.

Despite the independent candidate being the son of former Sen. Robert F. Kennedy (D-NY) and the nephew of former President John F. Kennedy, he has received little support from the establishment of the Democratic Party.

A large number of Kennedy’s family members endorsed Biden over their kin last week.

Furthermore, Kennedy accused the Democratic National Committee (DNC) of supporting Biden over him when he briefly ran as a Democratic Party candidate in the presidential primary last year.

Following his concerns Kennedy announced that he would be running as an independent under the “We the People” Party. He considered running as a Libertarian but ultimately decided against it.
