False claims of FBI agents’ arrest debunked.
Listen To Story Above
Recent social media posts claiming that five FBI supervisors were transported to Guantanamo Bay following their arrests have been proven false. The misleading narrative originated from a satirical article published on February 2nd by “Real Raw News,” a website known for publishing fictional content.
The false claims specifically mentioned David Sundberg, who currently serves as the assistant director of the FBI’s Washington, D.C. field office. While Sundberg is indeed preparing to depart from his position as part of an executive-level reorganization according to NBC News, having led the D.C. office since 2022, the claims about his arrest are unfounded.

The social media posts attempted to link these alleged arrests to the FBI’s August 2022 search of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence. However, “Real Raw News,” the source of these claims, explicitly states on its “About Us” page that its content is satirical in nature. The site’s disclaimer clearly indicates that its materials are “for informational and educational and entertainment purposes” and contain “humor, parody, and satire.”
Further investigation reveals no supporting evidence from official channels. The FBI has not released any statements addressing these claims, and former President Trump has remained silent on the matter across his various social media platforms, including X, TRUTH Social, and other verified accounts. The U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps has similarly made no mention of such events.

When contacted directly, Patricia Babb, representing Navy JAG, definitively stated: “This is not true.”
The absence of any credible news coverage, combined with the explicit denial from official sources, confirms that these claims are entirely fabricated. The FBI has been contacted for additional comment on the matter.
